To Be Fair, Consistency Was Never My Forte

Okay, okay, I know I said I was going to write at least some little blurb every day, but in my defense I had the worst migraine the past few days, and when I don't feel good I'm the biggest baby about making myself do just about anything. To remedy the lack of posts, I'm going to do a nice life update since I haven't done one in ages and not that many people know what's new in my life lately. So here goes! Fuzzy socks on, writing jams queued, tea warm and ready. Strap in, this could be a long post.

For starters, my boyfriend Justin and I recently moved into our first apartment! This is our first time living together on our own, and I couldn't be more excited. Between us, I love this guy more than anything else on this Earth. He just gets me, you know? Every moment with him is full of childhood happiness, just pure joy and love and peace. He's my person. I'm not saying we don't have our moments, because Lord knows sometimes he gets on my nerves like nobody's business, but at the end of the day I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Living here truly feels like home, it feels right to be together. We're just really, really happy and it's the best feeling in the world.

Our apartment is flashy or huge, it's a moderate one-bedroom, but it's the perfect size for us. Soon we'll be joined my sweet kitty Molly. <3 She's recovering from surgery right now, but once she's better we'll get her settled in. I just hope she likes the place as much as we do. We're still in the process of unpacking, and at the moment our apartment is littered with half-empty boxes and broken down cardboard. It's definitely been a unique experience, and each day we're realizing things we want to get and things we still need to get. At present, our coffee table is being used as a temporary tv stand, and a couple boxes and a whiteboard have taken the place of our coffee table for the time being. It's certainly a sight to behold but, like I said, it's our home. We're getting things set up little by little, and it's slowly starting to look the way it's supposed to.

I'm currently working at JCPenney and absolutely love my job, but I'm looking for a secondary job to supplement the hours. I love getting to interact with people and help them in anyway I can, I just wish I was able to be there full-time. Unfortunately that's the one downside of retail: short shifts. It's okay though, Justin recently got a promotion at his job and works at least 40 hours a week so we're alright. We have plenty saved up anyways, but it never hurts to save even more.

One of the highlights of my week has been a new college-age small group we've been going to. Everyone there is incredibly friendly and laid-back and genuinely just great people. We've missed a few weeks since we've been busy unpacking and getting everything done, but I'm really glad God led us to the group. It's really relaxing to have people to talk to that are going through similar walks of life, people that are more than willing to listen and help when they can. I've been in a really good place lately regarding my mental health, and it doesn't feel like a chore to leave the house lately. I've always had problems about isolating myself at home, but after a few weeks of pushing myself to get out and truly be rooted in my community I can really feel myself making progress and honestly I'm proud of myself. I look forward to the things God continues to bring into my life.

Keep an eye out for more posts, I'll try to keep a more consistent schedule than I have in the past. Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed, and have a wonderful rest of the day. I'll see you soon!

A million thank yous,

Abigail

Once More, With Feeling

I know, I know, I've talked about reviving this blog many times, but life has always gotten in the way of actually continuing with it. I'm happy with how things look on the page visually, but I've always had issues keeping a consistent posting schedule. Well, no longer. I'm determined to write at least something every day, even if it's something short like a poem or something along those lines. I want this to be an exercise in learning to love writing again. I've gotten very complacent in terms of pushing myself to better my writing, and to be honest I haven't written anything that really wows me since longer ago than I'm proud to say.

I want this blog to go back to what it was always intended to be: my creative space to write, think, and share how I see the world. Some days it will be a life update, others a short story, poem, or possibly even sneak peeks of longer pieces I'm working on, and other days it might be something entirely unique. I won't promise anything spectacular right off the bat, I'll just say it's going to be a work in progress. With all that said, I look forward to writing again. It's always been a nice stress-reliever for me, and it's soothing to get my thoughts down and collected in some way or another. I hope you're as excited as I am to bring this old beauty back to life after months and months of neglect. Please feel free to leave comments about things I write, and to engage with me outside of just reading my posts. I'd love to hear from you! I sincerely hope I still have someone willing to read my work after all this time of inactivity. I suppose I'll find out, won't I?

Here's to a future of growth and discipline. I'm happy to have you along for the ride. <3

Be seeing you,

Abigail

Finalizing Things

Alright, looks like I'm just about finished with updating the blog! I may go back and tweak a few things, but for the most part I'm happy with the layout and style of things. I'll be back soon to give a life update just to get back into the swing of things. It's been quite a while since I've written anything here, and truth be told a lot has changed in my life. I'll get into that later though, there's a lot to talk about. I've received some pretty positive feedback about my blog becoming active again, which really means a lot to me. Thank you to everyone who stops by to read this small little blog, it's nice to see people enjoying my work. I'll post the life update soon!

Thanks for reading!

Pardon my dust!

I've decided that I actually really want to start blogging again. I won't give false hope promises that I'll be 100% consistent with a posting schedule, but I'll write whenever I have free moments. Since this blog hasn't been updated in about three years, I'm going to be working through a renovation process to modernize the layout and content of this blog. Posting should start soon, just don't be surprised if you start noticing things change. I'll send out an update post when I have things settled the way I want them. I'm excited to start blogging again, I really have missed writing.

As always, thanks for reading, and I can't wait to see where this goes.

Wassup!?

Hello once again, everyone! Lately, I've been too busy too post, but I'm doing what I can. I figured I should give you all an update on what's been going on in my life. Let's begin, shall we? ^_^

Well! For starters, my mom recently had total knee replacement done. It's been a few days, so she's back home now. I've essentially been the mini-mom, as well as her daily assistant. It isn't as bad as it may seem. I kinda enjoy just hanging out at home. I ended up reading an entire book just today! (The name of the book is Paranormalcy by Kiersten White; It's the first book in a series and I would DEFINITELY recommend it! Especially if you like paranormal creatures, cute couples, drama, an evil ex-boyfriend, and a SUPER interesting plot) I've also recently started up playing Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes on Xbox. So far, I like it a lot! My little brother got it for his bday, but I decided to go ahead and give it a go. I'm a sucker for a good lego game. (Honestly, I could go on for hours about how much I love this game; just ask my best friend Bree)

In other news, I've developed a crush on this guy in my class??? It's nothing serious or anything. Currently, we're friends. I kinda like him, but he seems pretty clueless about it. If nothing else, I've found a really cool guy friend. I won't say his name (a lot of people who read my blog go to my school), but I will say that he's really cool. >////<  (If I mention him again, I'll call him NGC (new guy crush)) OKAY MOVING ON~

The other day I had portfolio night! It's basically a night for all the honors English kids to show off what they've written that yet. I loved it last year, but it wasn't all that good this year. Why, you ask? Well lemme tell ya: my portfolio somehow fell out of the box without anyone noticing. I spent over half an hour thoroughly searching each table, but eventually I gave up and went home. Needless to say, I was more than a little pissed off. They found it the next day and apologized, but it just wasn't the same. They're having it passed around in different classes to get feedback, but the thing I like about portfolio night is that people give you feedback because they WANT to. I don't want people to only respond because they have to, yknow? I'm just glad that it's over, so I can stop stressing.

In other recent news, I moved (kinda)! Over fall break, I moved from my old, small room to my dad's slightly larger office! He moved his office stuff into his bedroom, and my brothers went from sharing a room to each having their own. I love it! The only downside is that my bed for the time being is an inflatable mattress with a leak in it, and I have to keep a heater running to stay warm. </3 On the bright side, I have two big windows, access to the porch, and a lot more space! I haven't completely set up, but when I do I'll try to upload a few pics of stuff. I plan to actually decorate and make my room cute. ^_^

As you can probably tell, I'm making up for my lack of posts by writing a lot. I'm going to try to post some (happy) poems up soon, as well as some short stories I've been working on. Wish me luck!

Stay Strong, Stay Beautiful
