For starters, my boyfriend Justin and I recently moved into our first apartment! This is our first time living together on our own, and I couldn't be more excited. Between us, I love this guy more than anything else on this Earth. He just gets me, you know? Every moment with him is full of childhood happiness, just pure joy and love and peace. He's my person. I'm not saying we don't have our moments, because Lord knows sometimes he gets on my nerves like nobody's business, but at the end of the day I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Living here truly feels like home, it feels right to be together. We're just really, really happy and it's the best feeling in the world.
Our apartment is flashy or huge, it's a moderate one-bedroom, but it's the perfect size for us. Soon we'll be joined my sweet kitty Molly. <3 She's recovering from surgery right now, but once she's better we'll get her settled in. I just hope she likes the place as much as we do. We're still in the process of unpacking, and at the moment our apartment is littered with half-empty boxes and broken down cardboard. It's definitely been a unique experience, and each day we're realizing things we want to get and things we still need to get. At present, our coffee table is being used as a temporary tv stand, and a couple boxes and a whiteboard have taken the place of our coffee table for the time being. It's certainly a sight to behold but, like I said, it's our home. We're getting things set up little by little, and it's slowly starting to look the way it's supposed to.
I'm currently working at JCPenney and absolutely love my job, but I'm looking for a secondary job to supplement the hours. I love getting to interact with people and help them in anyway I can, I just wish I was able to be there full-time. Unfortunately that's the one downside of retail: short shifts. It's okay though, Justin recently got a promotion at his job and works at least 40 hours a week so we're alright. We have plenty saved up anyways, but it never hurts to save even more.
One of the highlights of my week has been a new college-age small group we've been going to. Everyone there is incredibly friendly and laid-back and genuinely just great people. We've missed a few weeks since we've been busy unpacking and getting everything done, but I'm really glad God led us to the group. It's really relaxing to have people to talk to that are going through similar walks of life, people that are more than willing to listen and help when they can. I've been in a really good place lately regarding my mental health, and it doesn't feel like a chore to leave the house lately. I've always had problems about isolating myself at home, but after a few weeks of pushing myself to get out and truly be rooted in my community I can really feel myself making progress and honestly I'm proud of myself. I look forward to the things God continues to bring into my life.
Keep an eye out for more posts, I'll try to keep a more consistent schedule than I have in the past. Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed, and have a wonderful rest of the day. I'll see you soon!
A million thank yous,
Abigail
