Dollars, Diapers, and lots of fun.

So, you guys know how awhile back I wrote my TBHs? Well, I mentioned that I'd rather hang out with my cousins, than with kids my age. I thought I'd tell you a little story, based on that fact :
Last week, my youth group went on a trip to Panama,Florida. Everyone... except me.
I was the wacky weirdo, who volunteered to baby-sit my cousins Peyton(3) and Aiden (1 1/2).
Before that week, I couldn't change diapers, couldn't put a kid down for a nap, wasn't sure how to make/feed kids food, etc.
Let me tell you, I learned more in that week than I do during a month at school! I admit, I had a lot of fun with them, but 'WOW!', what a bad first day I had. My Nana asked if I would watch the kids with my 9-year-old brother, while they worked at the church. Hang out a few hours, play some, no big deal? Right? Wrong! Not only did I find the joys of jealous kids, I had to change my 1st diaper (And a POOPED one at that!).
At that moment, I would have rather faced a rabid wolf! Aiden was writhing around, trying to stick his hand in poop, ALL sorts of things! There were tiny fits flying and wipes scrubbing as fast as I could. Needless to say...... it was a bad day.
The 2nd-3rd day weren't as bad. I learned how to change diapers, but I wasn't brave enough to stand up to them. (They're pretty terrifying, ok?)I was still quiet, and didn't get onto them much.
By the 4th and 5th day, I'm not sure if I learned to discipline them, or if I was just so worn out and stressed I was just stricter then usual; either way, they started behaving me. Sure, they had their "everything is gonna be NO" fits, but they minded.
Let me just say, that week I learned: Kids are NOT breakable! Ignore tantrums! And ALWAYS have diapers, wipes, and nose-plugs in-case of poo bombs. (I also made some $$$$ in the process ;) )
Anyways, I hope you enjoy my story of learning to deal with kids while everyone's vaca-ing! I'll most more stories/advice/etc, soon!
Stay Beautiful,
Abbie
